Geo Milev lies in the eastern part of Sofia and forms part of the Slatina administrative district. It is a separate neighbourhood from Slatina itself, and distinct from Yavorov to the west and Reduta to the south. Its identity comes from a compact street grid of residential buildings, local shops and small businesses rather than from a single landmark.
The housing stock is mixed. Mid-rise apartment buildings from different construction periods sit alongside smaller blocks and a number of newer residential projects that have replaced older plots. Layouts, ceiling heights and building standards vary noticeably from street to street, so comparing several addresses gives a clearer picture than looking at the neighbourhood as a whole.
Connections are based on surface public transport and the surrounding road network, with Shipchenski Prohod running along the area as one of the main local corridors. A new metro station is under construction as part of Sofia's metro expansion, at approximately the intersection of Nikolay Kopernik Street and Geo Milev Street; it is not yet in service and no opening date is assumed here.
Everyday life is served locally: food shops and supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, medical practices, schools and kindergartens, with additional retail and services along the larger boulevards nearby. The overall character is settled and residential, with quieter internal streets a short distance from busier through routes.
